The main idea that I will remember after this course, I know it could seem too obvious, is that I need an Assessment Plan. That includes I have to take time to put all the ideas and new concepts I learnt in order and design an assessment plan carefully. This plan must include summative and formative assessment and as we do with our learning activities it has to include variety and be attractive to our students.

I also take the idea that I have to make clear what my goals when preparing the assessment activities are. This will help me in order to organize myself and my register. At the same time students will have also clear what is expected from them.

I would improve formative assessment implement it in my lessons in a clear and plain way. I think I haven’t done it very well at the moment because I didn’t give it the importance I think it must have. I would like to select the assessment activities and put them in a kind of grid where I could see that all the skills are covered and balanced and next to them check that different agents and tools are included. I strongly believe that formative assessment will help me to know which are the real difficulties or in which stage my students learning is.

Next year I would like to promote peer and self assessment because in my every day I normally don’t give time to my students to learn learning. When I give them the time I don’t keep this learning in mind when I grade them. I also think that I underestimated my students and make the mistake of thinking my primary students are not able to do this kind of activities so I’ll prepare more assessment activities in which the students can self assess or assess other students.

I also would like to add rubrics next year. I heard about them before but I was reading some links Cristina and Núria gave us and I think they will be very useful and make the assessment clearer and more subjective.

I think it will work because throw this course I relearn (I suppose I knew before but maybe I didn’t see so many clear examples or I didn’t feel confident enough to carry on with this) how important formative assessment is although it is more time consuming and it is not so easy as summative assessment. It can give us more and better information.

I feel overwhelmed for all the things I have seen these days and I am thrilling to share this with my colleagues at school and start changing some old fashion habits that don’t allow us to teach with quality and in a renewed way.

Maybe because it is summer but I feel with energy to try to change and incorporate things that make me grown and make my teaching better, thank you very much for sharing!!!
