Short description: Students are grouped in pairs. Each member of the pair is given a different version of an original picture, drawing, etc. Without showing them to each other, students need to interact in order to find the differences, asking and giving information of their own pictures to their partners. This activity can be adapted for almost any lesson, and is good for filling a 15-minute gap in a lesson plan.

To cooperate with a partner to identify the differences in a picture
To request and give information orally
To practice oral fluency
To use English as the language to communicate
Assessment: This activity can be used both in formal and informal assessment. Rubrics and observation sheets are useful to assess fluency and accuracy. However, I prefer to use this activity to foster speaking skills in class. When students finish, they just put the pictures side by side so that they can check whether the differences they found really exist or not, self-assessing their performance.
It is a funny and easy activity. We can use it like a game and practice the speaking at the same time that teachers assesse students. Children love play to find differences and they try to do in the best way to win their partners.

I love this kind of activities!!! The only problem I see it is that I never know when I will have this 15 minutes gap and sometimes when I have them I don't have the material ready or I want a very specific material to go on working with the topic we are.
Definitely I need to plan my lessons better.
