This project was coordinated by the Tech and the English Departments (luckily!!!) We invited American schools to join to our wiki. In the wiki children work in pairs, one American student with one of our students (sometimes two). They have to complete three tasks in order so first our students send one task then the American students answer with the same task. The last task is recording themselves talking about the city where the school is located, Barcelona. Then they have to post and share this video with their partners.
Objectives:
Use English in a real and useful situation.
Realize why we must be able to speak English.
Be able to talk about the place where you live. (Using the structures and vocabulary previously worked at class)
Understand there are people from around the world and English could be a way to communicate.
Assessment:
Using a assessment sheet (only for the English part). The ICT teacher evaluates how they use the wiki, how they use the movie maker program…
Concepts: Name of the city, population, food, monuments, more…
Structures: There is, there are, the most important thing, I live in… Intonation and pronunciation
