Hello, everybody!!!!!!!

Last but not least (I hope!). My name is Sònia and I'm finally joining you in this course after a stressing first week of holidays in my home.
I'm an English teacher in a secondary school in Tremp, the capital city of Pallars Jussà, just at the very start of the Pyrenees in Lleida.
Well, when I decided to choose this course, I definitely did it given my difficulties to assess my students objectively in the different language skills.
I found it really interesting to be able to be in contact with other teachers to share ideas, opinions, etc. I believe this is the best way to improve our teaching.

In the pictures I've posted, you'll see my passions.

These are my cat Boira and my niece Aina. She lives in France and, as a two-year-old girl, she's an expertice in languages: French, Catalan, Spanish...and some English!!! It is amazing to realize how naturally children learn languages.

This is my special corner. It's close to my hometown and I usually go there to have a walk, read...or just lie down and relax after a tough day at school ;-)

Hi, my name is Anna and I teach English at a secondary school in Esplugues. Before I started writing I read what you have been writing and I have come to the conclusion that the reason why I am doing this course is the same as yours: to try to get up to date with the so many changes which are taking place in education nowdays( basic competences...)One of the things I really find difficult is assesing the students performance with objectivity.

I am going to upload, to link, a video which I always use the first day of class of a new year course, in September, in the hope that the students realize how important education is...and see that sometimes only through education we will be able to change our lives and that. if we want, we can be masters of our destiny..

I like this image because I can see myself as a penguin, that is to say "clumsy", nevertheless taking the plunge...

Hi!

My name is Glòria, I'm an English teacher in a primary school in Barcelona. I teach English in 6th of primary and I also teach arts & crafts in English in 1st and 6th of primary. I really like what I do, I believe it is a wonderful job. Sometimes I feel the need of sharing my ideas, projects, doubts and questions. I think sharing is a good way of growing. I also feel that sometimes I need to keep in touch with other teachers and try to improve and update the methods or the activities. Education is continuoulsy changing and we must be aware and change too. That's why I'm here! ;)

I love trekking, playing football and doing different sports with friends. I am a chocoholic I love all different kind of chocolates!!! And I like Harry Potter books (I know it sound a bit weird!) and eating pop corns in the cinema!!!

I posted one of the videos of sir Ken Robison, I guess you know them because they are very interesting. I like his videos because he says things with quite sense and he is funny too.

An interesting picture about education which makes me thinks about.

And finally three pictures I stuck on the "Funny English Corner" of the English class this year. Children voted they were the best! (I think they are the pictures they understood easily!)

Hi, my name’s Lluís Bennàssar
I’m a teacher of English at CFA Barceloneta. I teach English, Catalan, and also take students for English and Geography and History who need to pass an exam if they want to apply for enrolment on a vocational course. Basically I teach adults who want to participate in a slower-paced class and some of them (those who enrol on the elementary course) have never studied English before and feel this as a shortcoming and try to make up for it. It is true that adults can have quite traditional learning styles and are reluctant to try alternative approaches, but it is equally true that they are eager to learn and also like sharing their knowledge and expertise with others in the class.

I love travelling and in my opinion it’s one of the most rewarding and exhilarating experiences you can enjoy.

I saw this video “Your body language shapes who you are” and found it quite interesting.

I’ve posted two pictures of whales I took in Iceland last summer.

Hi, I am Maria Ascensión Sanz and I am a Secondary teacher of English and German in la Pobla de Segur in the province of LLeida. I arrived early this morning from the Black Forest in Baden Württemberg where we have had an exchange with a Gymnasium for the last 22 years and this is why I am joining a bit late. I like working with projects and I am interested in all that can make my lessons more atractive to my students who are more and more demanding. I supose it is the same everywhere.
As for the media here it is my first batx students blog: http://whatsup-shagaret.blogspot.com.es/ . They like posting different kind of materials.

I am posting the song of the Egyptian Revolution. It was incredible to be with all those peoples sharing their fate. I lived in Egypt for three years from 2008 to 2011. I hope you like the song. There are so many dreams in those lyrics. The dream of a youth who would be more than happy to have half of what ours has.
